Happy Diwali - Saal Mubarak

This month we celebrated Diwali - the Indian Festival of Lights that heralds the Hindu New Year. We listened to stories about Sita and Ram. Nishita visited us from Room 3 to share her Diwali greeting card. She brought in a Salwar Kameesz and put it on so we could see what her fancy clothes looked like. She told us about the 5 days of Diwali celebrations. Olive tried on Clio's Salwar Kameezs. Ariana's sister Zara had a very pretty dress on for her visit to Diwali celebrations. Several children from our class had Mhendi patterns on their hands. Ria's Mum even made some burfi for us to eat, yum! What a fun and colourful time.
