Room 23 Says Farewell To Mrs Baird and We Reflect on our Year

Mrs Baird has been visiting Room 20 this week and lending a helping hand in the mornings as the New Entrants roll continues to grow. From next week she will be working with Miss Watson in Room 20, receiving and teaching the children who have just started school. Aren't they lucky to have a teacher as wonderful as Mrs Baird helping them on their learning journey?

Although that means Mrs Baird will not be in our classroom, she will just be across the way so we can visit and give her a happy wave when we see her and she will pop in occasionally to see how we are. Noho ora mai, Mrs Baird, Take care.

It is incredible to think that the children are entering their second year at school. Some of our highlights during the year would include:

  • the beach trip in Term 1.
  • the boat making during that term.
  • the Maori topic in Term 2.
  • the Museum trip.
  • the practice and effort that went into our Production and the tremendous support shown by whanau. Thanks in particular to Alan (Thomas' granddad),Simon (Ezra's dad) and Shane (Mr Baird) for volunteering their time, their equipment and their technical expertise. Looking forward to that movie!
  • Coming second in the Ballistics Challenge.
  • Assembly in Term 3 - What a catchy song that 'Slippery Fish' is.
And we have a whole other Term to go:-)

Mrs Frances Britz (Fran) our Teaching Assistant continues to work in Room 23 supporting us in in furthering our learning goals. Thanks Fran!

Room 23 Gardening

Hey Room 23 Parents, is anybody interested in gardening?????
We have part of a gardening bed to look after for the year and as it is nearly time for planting we are looking for some volunteers to come in and work with the children to do some gardening.
We would like help with any of the below:
planting seedlings
propagating
weeding
cooking
planting seeds (to raise on our windowsill)

We love to take care of our environment.
Thank you
Mrs Makani & Mrs Baird
