Friday Honey Tasting Day

Rewarewa tree in flower

These are the 4 honeys we tried on Friday. The first is Vipers Bugloss Honey from Airborne Honey. Airborne Honey sent our Syndicate different samples of honey and we tried this one on our toast. It is very light in colour and is runny. It was delicious. Vipers Bugloss is another name for Blue Borage. Find out more here- Vipers Bugloss Honey.

We ran out of bread for toasting but that didn't stop us.We tried Rewarewa honey next. It was firmer, darker and had a richer flavour. Yum! Rewarewa is also known as the NZ honeysuckle.
We had to dig into the Bush honey. It is like Manuka, only it has nectar from other bush flowers as well. Also nicely flavoured. 2 and 3 were mainly the favourites.

Cinnamon was either loved or hated. Some children liked it because it tasted like doughnuts and others thought it was just plain wrong! Feel free to have a taste when you are next in.
